Let me tell you a story.
About a year and a half ago, my father’s 75th birthday plans fell through. Being the doting daughter that I am, I planned a last minute trip for us to the Papaguayo Peninsula, Costa Rica in 24 hrs. The biggest challenge was getting there from Nosara. A friend of mine tipped me off that a family staying at their Airbnb was traveling up that way and suggested a hitch a ride. So, hitch a ride I did.
When I opened the van door, I met Michelle and Steve Gable, who were accompanied by their two lovely and engaging sons. The 2.5 hr ride on the palpation-inducing, unpaved roads flew by as we chatted about travel, parenting young sons, and our six degrees of separation in L.A.
