When designing the alignment content for our upcoming Surf + Thrive Retreat, I was hesitant to use concepts outside of Western frameworks in case they didn’t resonate with the business women and entrepreneurs attending. But when I mapped the chakras, they aligned perfectly to workshops crucial to re-centering at work and beyond. 

The seven chakras offer a powerful framework for understanding how our personal energy affects our ability to lead, create, and thrive—both in life and in business. When these energy centers are aligned, we feel centered, clear, and in flow. When they’re blocked, we may experience confusion, burnout, or disconnection from our purpose.

At Surf + Thrive, we’ll show you how each chakra maps to personal and business alignment:

🌱 Root (Muladhara) – Stability & Survival
This is your foundation. In life, it reflects your sense of safety and belonging. In business, it’s your systems, finances, and infrastructure. When this chakra is grounded, you feel secure and resourced enough to take meaningful risks.

🧡 Sacral (Svadhisthana) – Creativity & Flow
This is your wellspring of creativity and emotional intelligence. It governs how you relate to pleasure, change, and innovation. In business, it’s your ability to co-create, generate new ideas, and adapt with grace.

💛 Solar Plexus (Manipura) – Power & Confidence
This is your center of willpower, self-worth, and personal drive. When aligned, you lead with clarity and conviction. In business, it’s where you own your value, set boundaries, and take bold, aligned action.

💚 Heart (Anahata) – Compassion & Connection

Here lies your ability to connect authentically—with others and yourself. In leadership and business, this is your ability to build meaningful relationships, lead with empathy, and stay aligned with your deeper purpose.

💙 Throat (Vishuddha) – Truth & Communication
This governs your voice—literally and metaphorically. It’s how you speak your truth, share your message, and hold space for others to do the same. In business, this is your brand voice, your mission, and your ability to communicate clearly and confidently.

💜 Third Eye (Ajna) – Vision & Intuition
This is your center of insight and foresight. It’s where strategy meets soul. In business, it helps you discern the path forward, trust your intuition, and stay focused on the bigger picture.

🤍 Crown (Sahasrara) – Purpose & Connection to Source
This chakra connects you to something greater—whether you call it spirit, source, or collective consciousness. In business, it’s your “why”—the deeper reason you do what you do, and your ability to surrender the outcome.

When we approach our lives and businesses with awareness of these energy centers, we create not just success—but alignment. We build with integrity, lead with intention, and experience a deeper sense of fulfillment.
